Membership and School Services Open Positions
VPs, Kate Miller: kayhlinmiller@gmail.com and Tracy Fauls: atfauls@gmail.com
Communications Committee Chair: oversees the Facebook, Highlights, Blast and Website team
and ensures HES PTO messaging is appropriately collected and communicated. Acts as
liaison/point person between the PTO board and the Communications team. Identifies
technologies, processes and opportunities for PTO communications improvements. The Chair
also manages communications publishing/deployment for one or more of the available media:
Highlights, Blast Emails, Website and/or Facebook. Position requires 0-1 hour per week and can
be managed from home, during evenings and/or weekends.
Facebook Coordinator: If you use Facebook, then we want you to help post events for the
PTO! It’s as simple as summarizing and/or reposting select content from the Highlights email
onto Facebook’s PTO page. You can decide what and when to post, and can even schedule posts
for the week, all at once. Position requires 0-1 hour per week and can be managed from home,
during evenings and/or weekends.
Fundraising Open Positions

Friends of Hillside: A general ongoing fundraising effort which supports all the programs and
events the PTO sponsors.
Spring fair: This is one of our biggest fundraiser of the school year. There are a number of
committees that coordinate the evening. Volunteers are needed to help with the Amusement,
Food, Games, Prizes, Raffle, Publicity, Bake Fair, and Volunteer coordination. A large number
of volunteers are needed. This is the biggest single day event at Hillside and it is a great way to
meet people, raise money and have a lot of fun.
Social Functions Open Positions

Fall coffees: Fall coffees are held in the Fall for each grade. Volunteers from each grade are
needed to host the individual grade-level coffees in their homes. This is a great way to meet and
socialize with other parents from your child’s grade.
Talent show (2 co-chairs needed): Third and fourth grade students can showcase their talents in a
non-competitive environment. Volunteers help to screen the acts, run rehearsals, and assist
during the evening of the event.
Cultural Arts Open Positions

Theme week: During Theme Week, Chairs and volunteers assist with all activities planned for
this exciting week. Volunteers are needed to assist in decorating the school, ordering t-shirts,
assisting with classes or special guests, and helping instructors. Depending on the theme,
Chair(s) plan opening assemblies and/or closing performances, art installation, etc.
