Hillside Elementary School is lucky to have so many wonderful teachers to help our children learn and grow from Kindergarten through 4th grade. They work tirelessly to make school not only educational, but a fun, safe, enjoyable experience for the kids, day in and day out. Each year at the holidays and towards the end of the school year, classes come together to give a gift to their core teachers to show their appreciation for all of the hard work that our core teachers put into every day that they spend with our kids, (and the hours outside of the classroom they give to them as well.)
Since last year’s gifts were so appreciated, this year we would like to continue to do a school-wide gift for each of the four special area teachers: Mrs. Braun (art), Mr. Haines (music), Ms. Lucy (library), and Mr. Hauer (physical education.) New this year, we will save 5-10% of what is collected for all other staff members at Hillside as a token of appreciation, as well!
Contributing to class gifts is always voluntary, and you are welcome to give whatever amount you are comfortable with. A suggested amount is $5 per child, but any donation is appreciated! The gifts will come from the school as a whole, and will be in the form of 2-3 gift cards to the teacher’s favorite stores, plus a small gift to go with them.
All money collected will be divided into two gift presentations: a holiday gift, and an end-of-year gift. We are only collecting once for both gifts.
Since we know the holidays and the end of the year are busy times already, we are starting the collection for these special gifts now, and will keep these contributions separate from any core teacher gift collections.
To contribute, please complete the simple online donation form below – it’s that easy! We will be collecting donations through December 13th, 2019. Remember – donations collected now will be split into the holiday gifts and end-of-year gifts – we will not be doing a separate special area teacher collection later this year.
