The Hillside PTO and Hillside Teachers will be coming together on Thursday, June 29th to host a Blood Drive with the American Red Cross in honor of Kurt Angstadt. The Blood Drive will be held at The Church of the Good Samaritan in Paoli from 9am-7pm.
We need you!
First and foremost, we need you to sign up to donate blood! Please consider becoming a blood donor and signing up for a spot here. You can also search for the drive by going www.redcrossblood.org to “Find a Drive” and entering Sponsor Code: Kurt Angstadt.
When you go to sign up you will see spots for Blood and Power Red. Blood Donations are the most common type of donation and what you think of most when donating blood. Power Red Donations are used the most in surgeries, accident victims and trauma patients. A Power Red Donation collects the red cells, but returns most of the plasma and platelets to the donor. These donors must meet specific eligibility requirements and have type A Neg, B Neg, or O blood. You can find out more information here.
Second, we need volunteers to help us with the Blood Drive. The American Red Cross was able to set up an all-day blood drive, to help manage the day we have set up 2-hour shifts. We are looking for 4 volunteers per shift to come help out with anything from registration, to canteen, to being a runner. Sign up here, and thank you all in advance for your help!
Our thoughts are with Katie, Kurt and their boys Kalen and Kyle. For continued updates on Kurt’s recovery please check out his Caring Bridge site. Also, on behalf of The Angstadt Family, a Go Fund Me Page was setup up.
